i'm doing it

and if you're not too busy, you can do it too!

scrivener is offering a nanowrimo trial of their software. product name aside, i am interested if only because i still haven't found a way to organize and them implement my ideas effectively. long ideas, i mean. friends will tell you that i am an idea machine and it's true. but i always point out that the execution of said ideas is what slows me down. i can't corral myself in, structureless, i throw my hands up and then curl into a ball of self regret and bitterness. or something like that.

i actually had 3 fanfic ideas in mind, one hybrid, and then that original story i started the first time i attempted nanowrimo. the white collar!au is off the table. i think i'm going to go with the fencing!au if only because it's been hanging around in my brain for a very long time now and deserves some attempt at an actual story. my only two hang ups right now are if the story should be set in "spain," and what to do with ruben de la red and pepe reina, besides the obvious i mean. i still have my preliminary research notes about fencing and court life, dress, etc, but i never got around to doing it for england. it would be easier i suppose to create not!europe or slightlymoreidealized!europe because then i could more perfectly order history. erm. right.

who is joining me!?

oh man I wish school had not eaten my soul and I could actually attempt nano. I wish you luck!

what you are doing is more important and you know it ;) besides, you're already kicking out long fics. i've got a long way to go before i can say that. next year maybe!

I'M DOING IT 8Db I even double-checked my account and it's all good, hrr hrr.

(Also if you do NaNo, apparently you get 50% off the full release of Scrivener when it comes out next year? SO THAT IS EXCITING IF IT WORKS OUT; I know I have been pining for the chance to try this program for a while.)

that is the whole reason i linked to it! i've been wanting to try it for a while now but 1. i don't have a mac, and 2. i still live as a perpetually broke college student and coupons are now my saving grace!

i am excited for your story! can i ask if it's going to be original or is it going to be part of your plan to take ff.net by storm?

Yeaaaaah, my old roommate had a Mac, but I've always been a PC girl since forever, but I've always looked at it and been like 8( I want to tryyyyyyy.

It's going to be original! I may do the thing where I just tally any fanfic I write into my total 50K, but I have an idea for the main NaNo itself. /o/ (I keep meaning to do my FFnet experiment, then I remember it means I have to reformat for that site, and ugh. /lazy)
