antique bakery

i once made a post about the antique baker movie but it was, admittedly, half assed. i need to try again, although i can't guarantee this will be better.

ANTIQUE!

the cast

the trailer:

the owner

Jin-hyuk owns the bakery and is a man with tragic past!

the patissier

Son-woo is a genius with a tragic secret! and by tragic i mean he's a self confessed "gay of demonic charm!"

the bodyguard

Su-young is so endearing to me and though i really do like every single character equally, my heart beats for him. um. which is tragic!!

the assistant chef

Gi-boem is a seemingly carefree lad with a tragic life!

together they are the heart and soul of the bakery, Antique. it's a story about coming together and letting go of the past, frosted and dipped in delicious sweetness. and gay.

did i mention they work in a bakery?

come for the gay, stay for the cakes. come for the cakes, stay for the gay.

either way, i promise you'll enjoy the movie. the characters are engaging, the story is interesting, and there is a lot of style and fun throughout.

a little slash for your time
as an aside, the story originated as a manga by fumi yoshinaga. Tachibana = Jin-hyuk (owner), Ono = Son-woo (demonic gay), Chikage = Su-young (glasses), Eiji = Gi-boem (boxer) and since the property originated as a japanese manga, all my fiction links refer to the characters as such. and while there is an anime series and a live action j-drama, i think the movie should be seen first (after reading the series but not everyone is into reading manga.) why yes, i do think korea did it better (except for su-young/chikage, he has more depth and his relationship with the characters is so much more than the movie makes and they skipped his story altogether but!)and i will continue to support/ride the wave.

brave disorder ono/chikage
adrift ono/chikage/tachibana
masks ono/chikage

i used to have tachibana/ono links but the author has since locked her journal.

after the 2 great hard drive crashes, i no long have the scanlated manga, but i do have the doujinshi created by the mangaka and they are hot and so much fun. if anyone wants them let me know!!
