Cool! I've taken some history courses on Japan and I'm taking an anthropology course on Japan this semester. It's fun times, there's something about Japan that makes it enjoyable to study. Is there a particular reason why pre-restoration Japan?
But haha I feel you again! People ask me what my area of focus is and I go "... British literature?" which is basically a cop-out, but OTOH, eliminates the literature of the other 99% of the world, so it's something. I find myself returning again and again to feminism and disability studies though, so we'll see if one of those ends up being a thing.
Are you a senior then? And do you have any idea what schools you are applying to? Sorry for being so nosy, but this topic is one that's currently very much on my mind, hahah. Oh god what happens after I graduate!/how can I grovel enough so that a PhD program will accept meeee? Feel free to ignore my ramblings! X3
